This adorable Cross Stitch kit was too precious to pass up!
I spotted this kit marked down at Hobby Lobby and it reminded me of our sweet Morris cat so I, of course, had to have it.
Like the Blue Peacock that I stitched, I had some struggles. It took me quite a while to complete, but before I get into the details of my struggles, here are the details of the kit...

Due to this kit being stitched on 18 Count Aida, I had a hard time most of the way through. I also struggled with the size of the symbols on the pattern. I always use a light when I'm stitching and it helped a bit, but I even tried reading glasses! Sadly, those didn't help either. I don't know if my eyes are just tired when I was stitching this piece or if I really need glasses.
On a few areas of the pattern, I had to take pictures with my phone and tablet so that I could zoom in to see the symbols. Yikes! Especially on the french knots that are stitched throughout the flowers. These were particularly hard for me to see.
This kit came with two needles and I broke both of them while working on the half stitches that use three strands of thread. Pulling three strands of thread through 18 count Aida... whew!... my hands were hurting!
One of the great things about this kit is that there was plenty of thread. In fact, there was so much left over that I felt as if I missed stitching something.
Overall, I would stitch this piece again because my favorite thing about this piece is that I will always be reminded of our Morris when I look at it. Sadly, he passed away in August of this year not too long after I had finished this piece. I'm happy that I will always have this as a reminder of him.
Here is before I added the backstitching and french knots...
And here are a few close up pictures...
